Gaining weight around festivals?

Diwali fever and festival spirit is high these days … We have just crossed Ganesh Chaturthi, Navratri .. Karwa Chauth and many other carb loaded fasts
It is a reasonable struggle for all of us to stick to our plan and yet follow the traditions n customs .. so HOW DO WE ENSURE WEIGHT MAINTENANCE during this time?
1) Reach for fruits instead of desserts > > Less dent to calories budget
2) Skip Breakfast Carbs n Fats >> I just take protein shake in the morning and save carbs for heavier lunch or dinner outing
3) In main meals hunt for PROTEIN rich items – paneer, plain curd, TOFU (if you are lucky), plain rice, non butter roti and sugar free tea/coffees
4) When you need to eat outside or at potlucks and absolutely cannot quantify ingredients — take help of HealthifyMe or Cronometer or MyFitnessPal to track cooked food
5) Walk n Walk n Walk >> More activity more NEAT = More caloric expenditure
Yes it wont give u accurate numbers but at least you will have some insights about caloric consumption even if off by 20-30% >>> something is better than being totally clueless ..
