Happy Mother’s Day to all the super moms!
I still remember vividly how overwhelming it was all, as a new mother. The sleepless nights, figuring out what to do with the new life, interpreting same crying signal in 20 different ways to understand what the baby really want.
So it was after almost 2 months post-partum that I stepped out of house with the new born and went straight to some temple event. I was super excited to meet all my friends after a huge gap and introduce the baby to everyone. I bumped into one of my closest friends and was expecting a warm hug and wanted to hear how much she missed me around, instead she said “Do something about your tummy, it looks like the 2nd one is going to pop out soon”
Well that shook my confidence to the core and I felt quite embarrassed. For the first time in a few months my focus shifted from baby to myself and how I looked or dressed. I just quietly sneaked out of the event so that no one noticed me.
That certainly was one casual comment with no ill-intention and I am thankful to my friend for shaking things up, however not everyone has the same courage or conducive situations or the confidence to deal with such comments so we should be kind and warm dealing with new moms.
We never know what battle someone is fighting to keep it all together so be kind and wisely articulate your suggestions politely and quietly
FOR ME … now it has been 5 years of “rain or shine” attitude that transformed me from an IT Project Manager to a fitter FITTR Coach!
I pursued a Diploma from INFS since I wanted to understand how to become stronger on a holistic all vegetarian diet …
I used to watch people awestruck performing pushups and pullups in the gym … n used to think I may never be able to do it ever cz I am a vegetarian n cannot have enough protein
But … here is an all vegetarian coach who follows mostly a plant based holistic lifestyle n is able to do pushups pullups and anything or everything that may put will-power n iron will to test!!
